Fr Joe Ryan IS skydiving this week - weather permitting!
The prospect of jumping out of a plane from a great height is terrifying enough at the best of times - but to be all prepared to jump - getting it over and done quickly - but then to have to postpone because of bad weather, sounds like real torture! That's what happened to London parish priest Fr Joe Ryan last week.
Instead - all being well - Brave Fr Joe will be heading for a small airfield in Cambridgeshire this Thursday, 9th June to take the tandem skydive. Donations will go to Westminster Justice and Peace and to the Parish of St John Vianney in West Green, north London.
Fr Joe Ryan has been a priest for nearly 45 years and is chairman of the Justice and Peace Commission. He wishes to collect funds for St John Vianney Church, for:
- Clearing the parish debt
- Paying for a new boiler, as the old boiler is in imminent need of replacement
- Purchase a new sound system for the church
...And, for the Justice and Peace Commission, for:
- Social Justice
- Migrants and Refugees
- Climate Change Activism
Please donate here through JustGiving: https://campaign.justgiving.com/charity/rcdiocese-westminster/frjoeskydive
Or if you prefer to send a cheque, make it out to St John Vianney Parish and send it to Westminster Justice and Peace Commission, 4 Vincent Rd, London N15 3QH.
And say a prayer for good weather!
