Redditch: Carmelite Spirituality Group established
The new Redditch Carmelite Spirituality Group was established last Saturday, 16 January, in a special Mass at the church of Our Lady of Mount Carmel.
Father David Doran, Principal Celebrant concelebrated with Father Denis Labartette. The beautiful sung Mass was arranged by the Music director Jobe Baker-Sullivan with the choir of Our Lady of Mount Carmel. Susan Salam, RCSG Assistant Convenor, served Mass along with Acolytes David and Daniel Thomas whose family hail from Kerala in India, homeland of St Euphrasia Elavuthinkal, CMC, co patron of the group along with the great Prophet Elijah.
The Establishment Letter from Father Anthony Lester O.Carm, Prior Provincial was read out by John Berry, the Provincial Delegate, witnessed by Veronica Errington, National Secretary, Caroline Holland, Convenor; Susan Salam, Assistant Convenor, Lay Carmelites from Birmingham, Coventry, and Manchester, along with members of the Legion of Mary and parishioners. The Prior Provincial was unable to attend owing to the death of Friar Father Conleth Doyle, RIP.
After Mass, all enjoyed a buffet lunch in the Parish Centre.
