London: Irish Stations of the Cross in Holy Week

The Irish Chaplaincy in Britain (ICB) will lead a special Stations of the Cross with a social justice theme during Holy Week at Our Lady Help of Christians' Catholic church in Kentish Town, north London on Monday 18 April at 7pm.

Parishioners from nearby churches and members of the public from across London are invited to take part.

The compiler of the ICB's Stations of the Cross, entitled 'Stations on the way to social justice and life for all' is Fr Gerry McFlynn.

Speaking about the project he said: "The Stations, or Way of the Cross, is one of the principal devotions during the six weeks of Lent, prior to Holy Week and Easter. They are a call to stand up and be counted in the building of a society of truth and justice."

ICB director Philomena Cullen said: " We want to build relations with the Irish and Catholic community on our doorstep, who we know, care as passionately about social justice as much as we do. We hope that by running this Lenten reflection we will get the chance to meet them individually, so that we can think about ways we can work together to make sure that the most vulnerable members of our community, are not forgotten".
