Classical concert for CAFOD
Virtuoso violinist Megumi Nagae and pianist Luis Parés, will be playing music by Schubert, Poulenc, Ysaÿe, Chausson and Sarasate in a special concert for CAFOD on Saturday 5 March, at Our Lady’s Church in Woodhall Lane, Welwyn Garden City AL7 3TP at 7.30 pm.
A graduate of the Royal College of Music, Megume has played in the RCM Orchestra conducted by Vladimir Ashkenazy. Luis Parés is a young Venezuelan/Italian pianist much in demand on the concert circuit. He recently performed at the Queen Elizabeth Hall in London and the Bridgewater Hall in Manchester as well as giving numerous recitals over the past years at venues such as St James’s Piccadilly, St Martin-in-the-Fields and the Bolivar Hall. Luis won First Prize at the XI Ricard Viñes International Piano Competition in Spain.
Tickets are £5 each, Concessions £3 and children under 14 free. Price includes a glass of wine.
