Catholic Blind Services launches appeal

Catholic Blind Services (CBS) has launched an appeal both financial aid and volunteers to help develop its 2020 strategy.

In order to meet its objectives and to develop its work for the next ten years, CBS aims to raise a minimum of £8,000. With this money CBS can purchase a new computer with up to date software programmes, a multi CD copier and paper folding machine for the Mass sheets. The remaining funds will be used for developing existing services and producing new resources.

CBS already produces large print Mass sheets which are sent out across Britain and Ireland. With the introduction of the new Missal and its catechetical resources, CBS needs to find funds to enable the Mass sheets to be revised and the catechetical resources transcribed. In 2011, local groups will be established, and volunteers will be needed to help organise and manage these. Volunteer readers for personal visiting and reading on CD are also needed.
