Act on Poverty - email David Cameron today
Inside No.10 is a Prime Minister with the power to Act on Poverty. CAFOD has launched a new campaign, urging Prime Minister David Cameron to do something concrete about it.
The agency says: "The global economic crisis affects us all, but it is hitting our neighbours living in the world’s poorest countries hardest. The decisions our government makes, from behind the door of No.10, will have a huge impact on our global neighbours. For almost 50 years, you've enabled us to make a difference to poor communities by tackling climate change, maintaining life-saving aid and harnessing the power of business to benefit people and the environment. But our work isn't over. Hardship and inequality remain.
"We’ve smashed our target of 10,000 messages by 10.10.10. That’s all thanks to you. But we think we can pile on even more pressure. Can you help get 20,000 messages in support of Act on Poverty before we present them to the government in October?
"With climate change talks coming up in Mexico in December and the focus on domestic spending cuts this Autumn, it’s more important than ever for the government to Act on Poverty."
