Masses in honour of Saint Josemaría Escrivá
The anniversary of the death in 1975, of Saint Josemaría Escrivá, the founder of Opus Dei, will be marked by public Masses celebrated in several places in Britain tomorrow.
Saint Josemaría was canonised in 2002 and his feast day is 26th June. More information about him is available online at: www.josemariaescriva.info.
Principal Masses
Masses will be celebrated in London, Glasgow, Manchester and Oxford. Priests will be available for the Sacrament of Reconciliation half an hour before the beginning of each Mass.
Friday 26 June, 6.30pm at the Church of St. Anthony of Padua, 115 Headley Way, Oxford. Celebrant: Fr Joseph Evans.
Friday 26 June, 8pm at the Church of the Holy Ghost, Nightingale Square, Balham, London. Main celebrant: Rt Rev Peter Elliott, Auxiliary Bishop of Melbourne, Australia.
Saturday 27 June, 11am at the Church of St Joseph, Plymouth Grove, Longsight, Manchester. Celebrant: Fr Peter Bristow.
Saturday 27 June, 11am at the Church of St. Mungo's, 52 Parson Street, Glasgow. Main celebrant: His Eminence Cardinal Keith O'Brien, Archbishop of St Andrews and Edinburgh.
Saturday 27 June, 11.30am at the Church of St John the Baptist, Dale Road, Purley, Surrey. Main Celebrant: F. Stefan Hnylycia.
Saturday 27 June, 11.30am at the Church of St Thomas More, Maresfield Gardens, Swiss Cottage, London. Main Celebrant: Rev Mgr Nicholas Morrish.
