Catholic priest to lead United Reformed Church service

Father Robert King, the University of Bristol's Catholic Chaplain, has been invited to lead Sunday worship at Redland Park United Reformed Church in Bristol this coming Sunday (24 July). Fr Robert will lead both the 10.30 am and 6pm services. Carol Fry, Church Secretary at Redland Park United Reformed Church said: "Our Minister, Reverend Douglas Burnett, is on sabbatical at the moment visiting many churches around the country and learning about different types of pastoral ministry. "We have invited local church ministers to lead our Sunday services during this time. We heard about Fr Robert from Reverend Helena McKinnon, the Moderator of the Free Churches in Bristol, who is Douglas's wife and used to work with Fr Robert at the University of Bristol. I am delighted Fr Robert is able to be with us and look forward to welcoming him to our community here at Redland Park." Fr Robert said: "I appreciate the invitation to lead worship at Redland Park United Reformed Church and am looking forward to visiting. It is unusual for a Catholic priest to lead the regular service and I am delighted that our ecumenical work at the University of Bristol is reaching out into the wider community." All are welcome to the services.
