Jesuit Refugee Services celebrate 25th anniversary

Some 150 people came together at St Ignatius church in north London to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the founding of the Jesuit Refugee Service on Saturday. Concelebrating the Mass with eight other priests, Jesuit Provincial Michael Holman paid tribute to the work done with those being thrown into destitution on the streets. "There is great quality to the work being done with those who have been deemed to have no rights so no access to healthcare or accommodation," said Fr Holman. He also praised the witness to the poor shown by JRS in its activities of befriending, lobbying at Westminster and making representations to Brussels on behalf of refugees.
