New website for those interested in contemplative life

The Association of British Contemplatives has set up a new website to give full details of all the different religious orders and monasteries in the UK.

The website at: www.abc.mydom.co.uk features a full directory of contemplative orders in the country.

"The new directory is meant to give people an idea of what contemplative life is all about and is a symbol of unity for the Association," said ABC chairperson Sr Mary of the Holy Spirit, Dumbarton Carmel.

"All the orders are included. If anyone wants to visit any of the convents they will receive a generous welcome and maybe eventually this will produce some vocations. Lack of interest is caused mainly through lack of knowledge and we hope the directory at least will help to towards a better knowledge of the wide variety of Orders of contemplative life."
