Some thoughts for Saint Valentine's Day


Today is St Valentine's Day. If you are single and looking to to brighten up your social life or maybe meet someone special, here are some ideas for you to consider.

Catholic Singles is a voluntary organisation which helps single, widowed, separated and divorced Catholics of all ages (over 18 years) in England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales, to meet other single Catholics, either one to one or through social events. In London, Catholic Singles meets on the first and third Sunday of each month at The Cardinal Public House, 23 Francis St. SW1 at the back of Westminster Cathedral at 12.30. The next ones will be on 18 Feb 18. & 4 March.

Project Twenty-Thirty organises prayer and social events for young adults in London and around the UK. Their url is: http://WWW.PROJECT2030.ORG.UK Catholic Singles Seminars take place on the last Wednesday of the month at 7.30pm at Our Lady's RC Church, Lisson Grove, St John's Wood, NW8. Everyone warmly welcomed. Bring a bottle or snacks.

A Single Mingle for young Christian adults has started up each month at a central London venue.There is a small £5 door fee per person, with a minimum of £4 of that going to HCPT, the chosen charity. Friends First at: www.friends1st.co.uk/ is a Christian agency based in the Midlands with an excellent track record.

One of the most successful Catholic introduction agencies is run by volunteers at the shrine of Our Lady of Knock in Co Mayo. Set up by Fr Michael Keane in 1968, more than 14,000 couples have met through the agency. By last year over 1,600 had tied the knot, and we hear there are currently several engagements and 'introductions in progress.'
