Archbishop of Southwark to undergo heart surgery

The Most Reverend Kevin McDonald, Roman Catholic Archbishop of Southwark and Metropolitan, is expected to undergo a heart by-pass operation today, at St. Thomas' Hospital, London. He has been told that the prognosis for his recovery is good. Following surgery he will stay in hospital for a number of days. After leaving hospital he will spend a period of time in convalescence. Speaking last night at the London launch of 'Revealed', a new youth ministry resource, Mgr Richard Moth, Vicar General for Southwark, asked all those present to pray for Archbishop Kevin's speedy recovery.
