Marathon runners raise thousands for Jesuit charities

A total of 20 runners entered the Flora London Marathon on Sunday, in support of Jesuit-related projects or charities. They are expected to raise thousands of pounds for their respective causes, once all donations have been received and calculated. The first member of the Jesuit Missions team to cross the finishing line was Stuart Mills, running his first marathon for Jesuit Missions since 2000. His time was 3.17.14. Next over the line was Rosalind Kieran, a medical student in London. She was running her first marathon in support of overseas development projects and completed the 26.2 miles in 3.29.44. The fastest Jesuit to finish the marathon was Slovenian, Robert Dolinar SJ (37), who is studying at Heythrop College in London. He and Fr Tim Byron SJ, the Chaplain at St Ignatius College in Enfield, both arrived at the finishing line in less than four-and-a-half hours. The full list of runners and their times is available on www.jesuit.org.uk/latest/080414.htm.
