Scripture holiday and study week in Cumbria
A holiday and study week takes place at Boarbank Hall, at Boarbank Hall from 21st - 28th February.
God's word comes to us in human form: in Jesus Christ and in human language, understood through human reason. Therefore we need to read the Scriptures both prayerfully and systematically, asking 'How were they written?' and 'How should we interpret them?'
The 'Thinking Scripture' week, will concentrate on St Paul, with a focus on I Corinthians. During the week, through lectures, discussion and reflection, we shall explore the different ways that we, as an informed believing community, might read and understand this text.
The week will be taught by Catholics, but is open to Christians of any denomination, and to anyone else who is seriously interested in learning more about the Scriptures.
The cost of the week, including full board, will be £270, or £210 for students, and people on low incomes. Financial assistance is available for those who may need it (details upon request).
