Catholic magazine achieves record ratings
Bible Alive, the UK-based Catholic magazine has reached a record number of readers this month - and official figures show a steady rise in subscribers since the publication's launch six years ago. The popular magazine is based on scripture readings from the daily liturgy with articles of faith in action, witness, profiles of saints and catechetical teaching. It has just received an ABC audit of 30,230. The ABC audit regulates the publishing industry by verifying the actual number of individual newspapers and magazines sold in any one month. For each copy sold, there is an average of three readers. Editor Mike Conway told ICN: "Since our launch in 1996, the growth of Bible Alive has been very encouraging - there is a great hunger in many to draw closer to God through the scriptures in the daily liturgy. Our lead features, profiles of saints and teaching based on the Catechism of the Catholic Church are meeting a real need in many and attracting a sizable readership, reflected so clearly in the recent ABC audit of 30,230."
