Condolences of Pope for victims of Mumbai bombing

Pope John Paul II has expressed profound grief over the terrible loss in human lives in the attacks that struck Mumbai. In a message to the Archbishop of Bombay, Cardinal Ivan Dias, he expressed his "most heart-felt condolences to the civil authorities and to the families afflicted by the loss of their loved ones, as also good wishes to the wounded and their families". The Pope also appealed to "all the men and women of goodwill to renounce to the path of violence, that has caused so much senseless suffering and let peace prevail over the forces of evil and hatred". Pope John Paul II said he prayed for the eternal rest of the victims and implored God for the gift of strength and comfort for the wounded and those who lost their loved-ones. Source: MISNA
