Zimbabwe: women arrested at Catholic church

Police on Tuesday arrested ten women, one of whom was carrying a one -year old child, as they gathered at St Patrick's Church in Bulawayo for the start of an International Women's Day march. The women were members of the Women of Zimbabwe Arise (WOZA) activist group. They were kept in custody overnight and expected to appear in court yesterday. WOZA official Magodonga Mahlangu told ZimOnline: "The police have absolutely no respect for women and we are saying we will never relent in our fight for the emancipation of women by Mugabe and his regime.
