Oxford: Las Cases Institute launches with call for migrants amnesty
The Las Casas Institute launched yesterday at Blackfriars Hall at Oxford University with its Director writing for The Guardian on Cardinal Murphy-O' Connor's recent call for an amnesty for irregular migrants.
Backing the Cardinal's call to the hilt Davis went on to criticize aspects of the new Draft Immigration And Asylum Bill condemning government proposals to outsource the vetting of asylum seekers to airline and other transport staff.
Given reports recently that the English Bishops will soon prepare a new social letter on "the common good" David went on to call for the new generation of Bishops to take up where Cardinal Cormac will leave off.
