Young people invited to attend leadership conference
The International Young Leaders Network is (IYLN) is inviting applications and nominations from young people aged 18 to 33 who are young leaders or emerging leaders in their field to attend two week-long 'scholars conferences' on ethics, social analysis and leadership. Members will then have ongoing access to on-line resources and a support group of peers.
The programme seeks participants of all backgrounds and is most interested in the challenges they have faced and how they have responded to them. Participants are drawn from every theological background and politics, academia, journalism, volunteering, NGOs and study. YLN's forthcoming colloquia will be in Budapest, Rome, Washington DC and South America.
The patrons of IYLN include Abbot Edmund Power, Bishop Declan Lang and Bishops Peter Doyle. The colloquia now has more than 100 members around the world and runs events for thousands of sixth formers across the UK. Recently it upgraded its office base at Blackfriars Hall, University of Oxford.
IYLN also has announced new institutional partnerships with the Angelicum (Pontifical University of St Thomas) and the Spaienza Institute in Budapest. In Australia the Archbishop of Canberra has kindly agreed to advise on Asia pacific plans.
