Fr Wilfrid McGreal re-elected as Carmelite Prior Provincial

Fr Wilfrid McGreal, O.Carm

Fr Wilfrid McGreal, O.Carm, has been canonically elected to serve for a second term as Prior Provincia lof the 15th Provincial Chapter of the Carmelite Friars in Britain.

First elected in 2008, Fr Wilfrid was re-elected by an absolute majority of electors on the first ballot of the election, held on 23 February at Aylesford Priory. Asked by the President of the Chapter - Very Rev Fr Christian Körner, O.Carm. (Vice Prior General of the Order) - if he accepted election, Fr Wilfrid said that he did so with the help of God and the support of the brethren.

Fr Wilfrid will be formally confirmed in office by the Prior General of the Order at the second stage of the Provincial Chapter to be held in Easter Week.
