Study Days on Catholic Social Teaching at Roehampton University
Digby Stuart Reseach Centre for Catholic Studies at Roehampton University, west London, will be holding two study days on Catholic Social Teaching next month, with Professor Tina Beattie, Dr Sarah Jane Boss, Susy Brouard from CAFOD, Andrew Cooke and Rev Augusto Zampini.
On Saturday, 19 March, the topic will be: 'Changing Perspectives in Catholic Social Teaching'. The following Saturday, 26 March will examine 'Debates and Issues in Catholic Social Teaching'.
Topics include: Key themes and developments in CST; Creation and the environment; Natural law and the Bible; Justice, charity and society; CST in the work of CAFOD; Human rights and women’s rights; Capitalism and socialism; Homosexuality and personhood; CST from a Latin American perspective.
Fees are £25 per day or £40 for both days for those not registered on the Catholic Certificate in Religious Studies (CCRS) course.
(Concessions are available for students, pensioners and those who are unemployed)
