Pope calls Irish Bishops to Vatican meeting

Pope Benedict XVI has invited Ireland's Catholic bishops to come to a meeting to discuss the Ryan and Murphy reports on clerical sex abuse. RTÉ News report that the Bishops will be in Rome on 15 and 16 February.

The Irish Bishops Conference announced yesterday that it is to convene an extraordinary general meeting on Friday, in the Columba Centre, St Patrick’s College Maynooth, to continue discussions on the Commission of Investigation Report into the Catholic Archdiocese of Dublin; and to prepare for Pope Benedict XVI’s Pastoral Letter, to the faithful of Ireland.
