Bishops call for prayers for the Holy Land

Archbishop Michael Bowen, Archbishop of Southwark, and President of the Catholic Bishops' Conference of England and Wales, has issued the following statement about the situation in the Holy Land: "We are all aware of the tragic escalation of the violence in the Holy Land in recent days, and of the wider threat to stability in the Middle East. The prayers of all of us, for a just and lasting peace, assume an even greater urgency at this critical time."
