Pentecost peace walk to London embassies

Christian peace campaigners are taking their message to twelve London embassies and government offices next Monday, (4 June) to mark Pentecost. The group, organised by Christian CND will be asking the world's nuclear powers what they have done to honour the latest non-proliferation treaty they signed this time last year. All are welcome to join. The day will begin with a service at St Martin-in-the-Fields, in the Dick Sheppard chapel at 10.30am. From there the group have arranged to call on South Africa House at 11am and 10 Downing Street at 11.25am - followed by visits to eight more embassies and government offices throughout the day. (Full details are given in the listings page). CCND chair, the Rev David Platt said: "Pentecost is a time of peaceful celebration and renewal of hope, that accompanies the coming of the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of peace and love. CCND celebrates, with the renewal of this treaty, the new possibilities of a future world that is free of the threat of nuclear weapons."
