Euthanasia judgment expected today
The judgment of the Law Lords is expected later today, in the case of Mrs Dianne Pretty, the Motor Neurone Disease sufferer who wants her husband to help her commit suicide. The pro-life coalition have expressed serious concerns that this case could undermine the lives of vulnerable people and lead to the practice of euthanasia. A spokesperson said: "In Holland, decisions by the legal authorities have led to the widespread killing of patients on a voluntary and non-voluntary basis. "We intervened in the courts to argue that Mrs Pretty's case could critically undermine the right to life of disabled and elderly people with degenerative disease."
