Plater College wins award for excellence
Plater College, the Catholic adult residential college in Oxford has won the Investors in People award. The award, from the government body Quality South East was presented after an in-depth assessment of the College's staff development and personnel processes. Investors in People looks for a 'joined up management structure' which provides employees with a supportive working environment in which they are able to make a positive contribution to the aims and objectives of their institution. Speaking of the award, Barry Hudd, Development Officer at Plater, who guided the college through the process said: "We are committed to supporting and developing our staff as they progress in the college. Each staff member's training needs are examined on an annual basis and the appropriate training is made available. As a result of this, most management appointments have been made from existing staff. We are delighted with this recognition. As a Catholic employer, we aim to achieve the highest possible standard in staff management and support."
