Former airport chaplain admits more abuse charges

A former chaplain at Gatwick Airport, who served a prison sentence for sexually abusing minors, was remanded in custody again today, after admitting another series of attacks on boys. Michael Hill, 68, pleaded guilty to six charges of indecent assault on three boys aged between 10 and 14. The attacks were carried out between 1969 and 1987 - the same period covered by the previous court case. Some are thought to have been investigated by police after the alleged victims contacted them following the first case. Others came to light during counselling sessions at the Wolvercote Clinic in Surrey, where sex offenders are encouraged to talk about their crimes. Hill admitted the charges at the Old Bailey, where Judge Christopher Moss remanded him in custody for sentencing on Thursday. Judge Moss said: "The result of this matter is inevitable - the question is the length." Hill, of Lingfield, Surrey, was jailed for five years in 1997 for a string of sex offences against boys. He was freed on parole in 2000.
