Rugby stars give children a sporting chance

The Christian human rights charity, Jubilee Action is hosting a special dinner tomorrow evening, attended by the entire Saracens Rugby squad, to raise funds for Jubilee's front-line work for children at risk. International rugby stars such as Richard Hill, Kyran Bracken and Thomas Castaignede will be at the black tie event. Jubilee Action, which provides protection for exploited children world-wide, has teamed up with the sport-in-the-community charity, the Saracens Foundation to organise the evening which is being held at Sandown Park in Esher. The two charities have been brought together by the Christian bio-tech entrepreneur Dr Kim Tan, the Chairman of Jubilee Action and the Director of the Saracens Rugby Club. The event will be an opportunity to present the work of both charities, including Jubilee Action's new Business Partnership Fund, which aims to create real jobs in some of the poorest areas of the world. Dr Kim Tan, Chairman of Jubilee Action said: "We are delighted that the entire Saracens squad and the local community are supporting this event. It is very important that as a Christian organisation, we gain support from those outside of the churches and we are delighted to be working with the Saracens Foundation in this way. Both charities are making a fantastic difference to the lives of children here in the UK and abroad." 200 guests are expected tomorrow. The evening will begin with a drinks reception, accompanied by the Jubilate string quartet, and followed by a three-course dinner. Following the meal, the sports celebrities will entertain guests in a Question and Answer panel session. There will also be an auction of sports memorabilia signed by sports celebrities and donated by the Saracens Rugby Club.
