Ecumenism at City Show
There was a strong ecumenical feel to the 25th City of London Flower Show held in the Guildhall on Monday and Tuesday this week, as churches from five denominations collaborated together on a number of activities. The Catholic parish of St Joseph's in Bunhill Row joined forces with the St Paul's (cathedral) Institute, St Giles Cripplegate Anglican church in the Barbican, St Anne's Lutheran church in Gresham Street and Wesley's Methodist chapel in City Road, running in a a stall in the Old Library of the Guildhall as 'Christians Together in the City". The parish of St Joseph's in Bunhill Row also had a stall promoting their church and their Quiet Garden dedicated to the memory of Basil Hume. Parishioners from all the churches took part in competitions for flowers, vegetables and plants, a well as handicrafts, cooking, brewing and photography.
