Prince postpones wedding to attend funeral
The Prince of Wales has postponed his wedding to Camilla Parker Bowles as a mark of respect for Pope John Paul II. Prince Charles and his fiancee were to marry in Windsor on Friday but changed their plans when the Vatican announced arrangements for the late Pontiff's funeral for the same day. A spokesman for the couple said the postponement - the wedding will now take place on Saturday - was the "right thing" to do. The Prince and Mrs Parker Bowles will now represent the Queen when the Holy Father is laid to rest in Rome on Friday morning. Prince charles returned from his Swiss skiing holiday today to attend the Vespers for the Dead service for the Pope held at Westminister Cathedral this evening. During the service Cardinal Cormac Murphy O'Connor said the late Pontiff would be remembered as "Pope Paul the Great"
