Ordination in Bristol

The Bishop of Clifton, Right Reverend Declan Lang, will ordain James Finan from Knowle in Bristol as a Catholic Priest on Saturday 8 July. The ordination Mass will be celebrated in Clifton Cathedral, Bristol and begins at 11am. James said: "After seven years training I cannot believe the day has finally come when I will be ordained a priest, I look forward to working with Bishop Declan and the other priests of the Clifton Diocese in promoting the Good News of Jesus Christ." James spent one year in training for the priesthood in Valladolid, Spain and a further six at St Mary's College, Oscott near Birmingham. His home parish is St Patrick's in Redfield, Bristol where he was an altar server before training to be a priest. Father Robert King, Clifton Diocese Vocations Director, said: "James' youth and enthusiasm will stand him in good stead as he begins his priestly ministry in the Clifton Diocese. His example should encourage others to consider the priesthood. I wish him well and welcome him as a brother priest called to bring joy and hope to many." Source: Clifton Diocese
