London: mission at Farm Street
A month-long Mission is underway at Farm Street Jesuit Church in central London. On every weekday evening, Fr John Edwards SJ will be leading devotions before the Blessed Sacrament. "The evenings are devoted to Catholic prayer and the teaching of the Church," he said. "But we also look forward to welcoming Christians from all Churches " The programme starts with the 6pm Mass, after which there is Exposition. Instruction in issues related to the faith then follows, with themes as diverse as repentance, healing love, life after death and Our Lady. Before the concluding Benediction at 7.15pm, Fr Edwards will lead the congregation in different ways to pray. The Mission/Retreat at Farm Street Church will culminate on Tuesday, 31 July, with Mass for the Feast of St Ignatius, the founder of the Jesuits, at which the British Provincial, Fr Michael Holman SJ, will preside.
