Archbishop Vincent Nichols statement on Cumberlege report
Ahead of the release of the Cumberlege Commission report, Archbishop Vincent Nichols, Chairman of COPCA, issued the following statement last night. Archbishop Nichols said: "I welcome and look forward to studying this report and its recommendations. A fresh look at these complex matters is timely. "I also welcome the period of consultation and reflection. We shall use it well in the Archdiocese of Birmingham. "The COPCA Management Board will consider the Cumberlege Commission Report at its September 2007 meeting and then contribute to the ongoing consultation." Archbishop Nichols added: "I look forward to a careful consideration of these recommendations at the Bishops' Conference November 2007 meeting. Together with the Conference of Religious we will then be able to decide on our best way forward in these important matters." Source Archdiocese of Birmingham
