Roll up for the Fairtrade Fairground
For the first time ever, the Fairtrade Foundation will be holding a large public launch event to mark the beginning of Fairtrade Fortnight on 24 February! Join CAFOD on London's South Bank on Sunday 24 February, trom 11am-4pm. The agency will be hosting a hoopla stall that highlights the hidden harm caused by gold mining and the need for a fairer gold mining system. There's also an old-fashioned helter skelter, fairground rides and games, and the opportunity to hear first hand about the difference that Fairtrade is making from a visiting Fairtrade farmer. Fun for all the family! The day includes: a Towering Helter Skelter; Twisting Tea Cup ride; Fairtrade Coconut Shy; Yummy candyfloss with fairtrade sugar; Meet Fairtrade producers; Decorate a T-shirt in the craft tent; Taste Fairtrade products; Have your future read in Fairtrade tea leaves Even if you can't make this event, during the following Fairtrade Fortnight (25 February to 9 March), a Fairtrade bus will be visiting several UK cities. Hop on board to see, hear and taste the benefits of Fairtrade for yourself. * Sunday 24 February: London * Tuesday 26 February: Ipswich * Thursday 28 February: Leeds * Saturday 1 March: Sunderland * Sunday 2 March: Glasgow * Tuesday 4 March: Liverpool * Thursday 6 March: Birmingham * Saturday 8 March: Cardiff * Sunday 9 March: Bristol www.fairtrade.org.uk/fortnight.htm
