Vatican releases Pope's e-mail address

┬áThe Pope┤s email address was officially released for the first time at the weekend - in time for his 83rd birthday celebrations. (NOTE: this address seems to have stopped working now. (25 Mary 2003) The address is: The Vatican received many thousands of congratulatory e-mails and telegrams for the Holy Father, even though he prefers to keep the Polish custom of celebrating the feast of his patron saint, St Charles Borromeo, on 4 November. On Monday the Pope told thousands of visiting Poles in St Peter┤s Square that he feels his "day of judgment before God" is drawing nearer. "Yesterday, I turned 83. I am ever more aware of the fact that the day when I have to account for my life before God is always closer," the Holy Father said in unprepared remarks in Polish in St Peter's Square. The Pope said he would have to account for his life in Wadowice, the town where he was born, in Krakow, where he was a priest, bishop and cardinal, and in Rome, where he has been Pope since 1978.
