New head of Congregation for Doctrine of the Faith

 Pope Benedict XVI announced his successor as head of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith today, during an address to a meeting of priests at the Basilica of St John Lateran. Theologian, Archbishop William Levada, 68, the Archbishop of San Francisco, is the first American to hold the post.
