Westminster: Vacancy for J&P Youth Worker

Westminster Justice and Peace Commission is seeking a Youth Worker to promote peace and social justice concerns in schools and parishes across the diocese. Energy and enthusiasm to encourage young people to make a difference in the world around them is key. Closing date February 21st 2017

Reporting to the Justice and Peace Fieldworker, and based at their office in Tottenham the post-holder will:

Promote justice and peace groups and activities in schools and parishes
Visit deaneries, parishes and other appropriate forums to extend awareness of the Catholic mission to work for justice and peace
Work with other agencies to create and use appropriate materials for use by young people
Further the Commission's campaign to make Westminster a Fairtrade diocese
Liaise with others in the Commission to maintain the website, the Facebook page and the Twitter account with details of Commission activities
Experience in a relevant post such as education or youth work, together with excellent communication, organisation and team working skills would be essential, together with a commitment to youth ministry and the spirituality, ethos and social teachings of the Catholic Church.

Hours of Work: 21 hours per week (9.30am-5.30pm preferably Monday-Wednesday but with some evening and weekend work)

Contract: One year fixed term (March 2017 to February 2018)
