London: Prayer vigil for Zimbabwe
A candlelit vigil was held outside the Zimbabwean Embassy in the Strand, London, on Saturday afternoon to pray for those who have lost their lives or been abused in the struggle against the Mugabe regime.
The Zimbabwe Vigil, outside the Zimbabwe Embassy at 429 The Strand, takes place every Saturday from 2-6pm to protest against gross violations of human rights in Zimbabwe. Started in October 2002 the vigil attracts several hundred participants each week and includes prayers, music, dancing, occasional guest speakers and a regular information stall. The organisers have pledged to continue until internationally-monitored, free and fair elections are held in Zimbabwe.
The dedicated prayer vigil is held outside the Embassy on the last Saturday of every month.
