Health & Meditation Retreat led by Laurence Freeman OSB with Dr Barry White 9th - 16th September 2016 on Bere Island, County Cork, Ireland.

Meditation and medicine are integrally connected through the experience of care, attention and wholeness. While open to all, this seven day meditation retreat has a special focus for those in the medical and caring professions.

Laurence Freeman OSB, and Dr Barry White who are leading a ground breaking initiative on meditation and health in the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland, will guide participants towards a new understanding of health and a new model of medicine, illustrating the importance of interiority in the work of healthcare professionals.

The retreat is a special opportunity to refresh the sense of calling that makes the medical and caring professions both personally fulfilling and effective in the well-being of others.

Dr Barry White is a Consultant Haematologist and leads the Health and Meditation programme within the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland. He was the first National Director of Clinical Care within the HSE.
