London Citizens questionnaire on hate crime incidents

London Citizens, the community organisation whose members includes representatives from all faiths, places of worship and faith schools across the capital, have launched a questionnaire into incidents of hate crime in the wake of recent incidents which have taken place since last week's referendum.

They write: Since the referendum result on Friday 24th June, we have heard of an increase in experiences of hate crime amongst people in our membership. As an organisation based on the values of human dignity this is something we must stand against. We have an opportunity to meet with the Mayor of London on July 14th and take evidence and relevant proposals to him about how we can tackle hate crime and ensure Londoners whatever their background feel safe.

We suggest that communities do some quick and simple research over the next 10 days to find out whether their members have experienced hate crime in this period since the referendum, whether they reported it and what happened.

Q1 Have you been a victim of crime or subject to criminal behaviour since Friday June 24th which you believe to have been at least partly motivated prejudice against one or more parts of your identity: ethnicity, religious beliefs, sexual orientation, gender identity, sex or disability?
