Having led the University to its current position of strength, Professor Peter Lutzeier retires at the end of 2016. The new Vice-Chancellor will lead Newman's pursuit of excellence in teaching, research and the student experience. At the same time, s/he will grow the University's profile in our region and abroad whilst promoting its interests within industry and government. Newman seeks an exceptional candidate to accelerate the University's drive towards excellence at a time of unprecedented change for the higher education sector.

The successful appointee will be an influential and visible leader, who will earn the respect and support of staff, students, governors, partners, donors and other key stakeholders. S/he will inspire and enable others to be fully committed to the values, mission and vision of the University.

The post carries a Genuine Occupational Requirement that the Vice-Chancellor be a practising Roman Catholic.
