Would you like to spend a year in a Birmingham Christian community?
A small, intentional Christian community in Birmingham City Centre is seeking someone to join them for ten months. It is described as "an invitation to share in the rhythms of life in a residential Christian Community in the heart of Birmingham City Centre".
Carrs Lane Lived Community is hosted and supported by a URC-Methodist Local Ecumenical Partnership. The community itself is ecumenical and welcomes long and short-term members from a wide range of denominations. Life is structured around a routine of daily morning and evening prayer which is the first vocation of the community. Beyond this it has a commitment to living together in community, sharing life with others, a spirit of hospitality and volunteering with a variety of projects in the city.
The invitation to join the "Year in Community" programme is a chance for someone to join and experience this way of life for ten months (September 2016 - June 2017). The programme is open to anyone, of any age or denomination (over 18) who is primarily attracted to a life structured around a routine of prayer, and for whom a life of community and service appeals.
