SVP hosts 'Shout Out Loud' at O2 Academy Islington
The St Vincent de Paul Society (SVP) is to host a live music event to mark International Eradication of Poverty day 2015.
'Shout Out Loud' will be an evening of live performances taking place at the O2 Academy Islington, on Saturday 17th October at 6-10pm.
Performing live will be three bands: Shak and the Banned, alexLANYON, and Hot Teeth, who will provide a mixture of soul, funk, and rock throughout the evening.
Vas Nicolaou, a member of the SVP team organising the event, said: "This will be a great night, with amazing live music that should get everyone up and making a noise in aid of wiping out poverty. Hopefully people will learn more about the work the SVP does and have a good time too."
The SVP is a Catholic charity helping more than 80,000 vulnerable people each year. Made up of 10,000 members who carry out visits to older people, food distribution, befriending, and offering other practical support, the SVP also runs a number of projects and centres offering debt counselling, IT and language classes to asylum seekers and employment training.
Shout Out Loud will raise valuable funds to help the SVP continue its work, eradicating poverty.
