Pressing the Button

Do those who are in favour of "pressing the button" have given little thought of the consequences. We are not playing games on a play station when the button is pressed.

We know the devastation of Hiroshima and Nagasaki - one nuclear war head would cause whole cities to be obliterated. One reason for renewing Trident is to keep up employment - the loss of jobs would be a disaster! Could those scientists and workers be employed in means of saving lives rather than obliterating?

We have just lost the run-off-ourselves if we feel Trident is going to save us. As many have said, Trident would not save us from another 7/7 or 9/11. It is those who set out to behead us or plant bombs in public places ... these are the ones to fear.

Trident only attracts attention. We need to work for peace and keep close to our enemies - then we will be safe.
