Bike novices complete sponsored cycle from Somerset to London
Many of the participants had never undertaken a long cycle ride before - and a number had just bought their first adult bike - but 20 brave parents, former students and staff from a school in north London, achieved a 150 mile sponsored cycle recently.
The team from St Peter's in Chains and St Gildas' Junior School in Crouch End, north London, set out from St Gildas' school in Yeovil, Somerset on 20th June and ended in Crouch End on the 21st, to raise £25,000 needed for playground upgrade work. All came through with flying colours.
This year marks 100 years since the foundation of the school by the Sisters of St Gildas' in Crouch End. A number of events are taking place to mark the anniversary. The Centenary Committee at the school is hoping to talk with past pupils. If you attended the school please email: admin@stgildas.haringey.sch.uk
