Novena for unity and renewal with Premier Radio

Premier Radio is working together with Christian leaders and churches of all denominations to focus on a special Novena - nine days of prayer in the run-up to Pentecost Sunday 2015.

Commencing on Ascension Day, Friday, May 15th, each of the nine days through to May 23rd will focus on a different prayer theme including prayers for the elderly, for the marginalised, and for those suffering from mental issues.

There will also be dedicated prayers for men, women, children, singles, young people and party leaders. As part of its 20th birthday celebrations, Premier will help resource churches to sign up and take part.

On each of the nine days, there will be a prayer, a short video and web links to further resources related to the day's theme.

Peter Kerridge, Premier's CEO, said today: "We will be inviting God's Holy Spirit to renew and work among our relationships and wider community during these special nine days of prayer and encouraging churches across the country to take part in an ecumenical act of unity and prayer." Novena is associated with the nine days between Ascension Day and Pentecost, mirroring the prayers of the first disciples commanded by Jesus Christ to wait and pray for the Holy Spirit to come. [Luke 24:49, Acts 2].
