Faith in Action at Greenbelt Festival 2014

Travelling Light is the theme for the annual Greenbelt Festival, where faith, arts and justice meet at Boughton House, Kettering between 22 - 25 August.

Pax Christi has had a strong presence for many years and will be there again this year. Pat Gaffney, General Secretary of Pax Christi will speak on the theme, Let us remember: stories of peace from the First World War. This is also the focus of the Pax Christi stall and exhibition, with the added challenge of encouraging participants to see where peace-work today has
to continue in the face of ever new developments in war and conflict.

Other peace and justice groups will offer workshops and prayer sessions. Columban Justice and Peace will run a student session on Inspiration from Activists' Life Stories; the Salesians offer a youth session on A Passion for Justice and Peace and the Fellowship of Reconciliation a talk on Jesus and Nonviolence. Kairos Britain and Dr Mitri Raheb from Bethlehem will bring issues from Palestine and Israel to the gathering.

The National Justice and Peace Network are facilitating the Mass and worship on Sunday.

Other speakers include theologian Tina Beattie, liturgist and theologian John Bell, Owen Jones, Sarah Tether, Ruth Jarman and Siobhan Grimes and many more besides. There is a great music line-up and a dedicated youth programme and children's activities. It is not too late to book. A great way to celebrate faith in action!
