Appeal from an Iraqi Christian in London

Christians fleeing Mosul

Christians fleeing Mosul

Recent events in Mosul and the threat of annihilation of the Iraqi Christians by ISIS can only be described as horrific and the likes of which has not been seen since the 7th century AD. An 1800 year-old Syriac Catholic Church is desecrated and burnt to the ground. Meanwhile, the outside world looks on as if this is but a mere local event.

The Iraqi Christian community in London across its various denominations is trying to bring this tragedy to the forefront of people's minds. Letters are being written to local MPs, interviews are being sought and petitions are being signed both in the UK and the USA.

Importantly, a demonstration is being organised by the five Iraqi Eastern churches on Saturday 26 July 2014 at 12pm in front of The House of Parliament. The senior clergy of these churches in London together with many Iraqis will be attending. Please show your support in any way you judge appropriate and please tell your friends about it.
