Philippines: emergency appeal from Mill Hill Missionaries
We have all read the reports and seen the pictures of the horrific situation in the Philippines.
SPICMA has received five urgent appeals for assistance from Mill Hill Missionaries who are on the ground in the badly affected areas. They are working in Panay, a badly affected island in the North; and at Turda village on the coast on the island of Busuanga/Palawan. Two Mill Hill Missioners are working in the parish there.
Communication is by text messaging and mobile phones but we don’t know how long this will last as they can’t get into the town to upgrade their phone card or access electricity.
1000 families are living in the area and 600 families have lost their homes.
They are in desperate need of medicine and shelter.
