Olympics in Rio in 2016

This Sunday, 5 August, St Mellitus Church in Tollington Park, North London will host five large banners prepared by children which will form part of the 'Biggest Painting in the World'. The banners will be on display from 2pm - 6pm. At 5m x 5m each, these huge pieces are to be used as part of the the Japanese organisation Earth Identity Project's campaign to make the 'Biggest Painting in the World'!

Once completed, the globally crafted banner will be on display at the Olympics in Rio in 2016. The purpose is 'to have children of various countries, religions and ethnic groups share the joy of completing the biggest painting in the world and, in the process, to foster their awareness for environment, art and culture and world peace'.

The event takes place from 2-6pm. Jeremy Corbyn MP and Catherine West Leader of Islington Council will be speaking at 3.30pm
